Data compression allows effectively faster transfer of information.
By compressing data, better useasge can be made of lower speed connections.
Data compression is used in almost all traditional wire modem configurations
and is extremely beneficial to slower wireless / radio modem connections.
For example, using 4:1 compression a 14,400 baud radio modem can transfer
data at the same speed as a 57,600 baud radio modem running uncomressed.
How
does it work ?
How do I use it ?
